Color Blindness Research

The goal of this assignment was to research what color blindness was and the different types of color blindness that exist.

Optics Experimental Review

What did we learn?

Color blindness is a vision condition in which a person has difficulty distinguishing certain colors, usually due to problems with the color-sensing cells (cones) in the retina of the eye. It often makes it hard to tell the difference between shades of red and green (Protanopia & Deuteranopia), or sometimes blue and yellow (Tritanopia & Tritanomaly). In rare cases, a person may not see any color at all, only shades of gray (Monochromacy or Achromatopsia). Instead of three types of cones (red, green, & blue) like seen in humans, animals can have a fewer amount or more than three, leading to them being able to see different colors than humans.
